Job summary

Are you a Speech and Language Therapist with an interest in developing a broad range of clinical skills and experience? Are you motivated to work as part of a dynamic and innovative multi-agency team? Then we are the team for you!

We are looking for a number of Band 5 therapists to work within our friendly and established team across a range of settings and specialties; working with children and young people, adults and adults with a learning disability supporting both communication and eating, drinking and swallowing needs.

The successful candidate will be joining an experienced team of friendly and forward thinking clinicians that can provide on-site support and supervision. We can offer the opportunity to develop skills working in acute, rehabilitation, outpatient / community settings, schools and home visits. There is a mix of static and rotational posts available.

Main duties of the job

To be responsible for the organisation, planning and prioritising of own caseload; includingmanagement, and evaluation of patient needs in relation to demands on the service with support from a senior therapist.

To contribute to departmental research and demonstrate evidence-based practice; ensuring own practice complies with current clinical effectiveness standards and treatment models.

To be responsible for the assessment, differential diagnosis, treatment and discharge of own caseload within scope of practice; with support to identify and manage risk within own caseload.

To take a significant role within the multi-agency team, contributing professional expertise as part of the wider multi-professional team

To participate in formal and informal training to relevant staff, carers and other professionals as appropriate or requested by line manager.

To deliver relevant work-based learning for the multi-agency team as required.

To maintain all associated records related to the management of own caseload; ensuring compliance with local and professional standards.
