Your role will involve managing inventory levels, optimising stock rotation, ensuring compliance with procurement policies and regulations, placing orders, stock management and ensuring the smooth flow of Pharmaceutical supplies.

This position is advertised as a Band 5, and ideally, the selected candidate should have obtained the essential accreditations, specifically in medicines management and accuracy checking.
Applicants will hold a valid BTEC & NVQ level 3 Pharmaceutical Science Certificate or Certificate of Higher Education in Pharmacy Technician Practice and be registered as a Pharmacy Technician with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC) or working towards.
Main duties of the job
Main duties include:
To place orders for Pharmaceutical Stock, from various suppliers.
To support the Senior Technician for procurement policies and procedures.
Stock Inventory and daily management of stock.
Provide a medicines management service to an inpatient ward including drug history, medicines reconciliation and accuracy checking discharge medication.
Being part of the ward MDT and the wider pharmacy team. This includes being part of the pharmacy weekend and bank holiday rota.
The successful candidate will work on rotation between clinical services, ward and dispensary. We are a department that is committed to the extended role of technicians, and you will be encouraged to develop your skills in all aspects of hospital pharmacy practice.
The pharmacy team has a proven track record of innovation and delivering excellent patient care as part of the wider MDT.
