Job summary

The Quality, Safety and Improvement Team within Swansea Bay University Health Board (SBUHB) is currently recruiting to roles which will support the health board in delivering high quality care to our patients. The work of the team covers all aspects of quality management, including quality control. quality assurance, quality planning and quality improvement.

The post is an exciting opportunity to support the Quality, Safety and Improvement team in providing a service that facilitates the delivery of quality improvement by leading, developing and implementing on measurement for improvement across the health board.

Main duties of the job

We are looking for an individual who is self motivated, organised and has a flexible approach with experience in the use of data and analysis. The role will promote and provide specialist advice in the appropriate use of data and measurement for improvement across the health board. Developing standards in the effective use of information and measurement in Quality Improvement.

They will work as part of a wider quality improvement team, contributing to the development of a culture of quality improvement as a way of improving the quality of care and service provision across the Health Board. Working with individuals in health board projects across Clinical and Non Clinical areas.

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.

Qualifications & Knowledge

Essential

  • Educated to degree level or equivalent experience
  • Evidence of further development and or education and training to post graduate level
  • Specialist knowledge of information requirements and standards
  • Advanced IT and analytical skills with knowledge of IT tools such as, SQL, data cubes and MS 365 including Teams, SharePoint, Excel, PowerBI, Lists, Power Automate, PowerPoint, Visio etc

Desirable

  • A relevant qualification in Improvement methodology, eg. IQT Silver/IiP, Six Sigma, etc. Knowledge of information in a healthcare environment e.g. acute, mental health, community, and primary care settings.
  • Knowledge of the NHS in Wales
  • Knowledge of coaching, influencing and engaging techniques.

Experience

Essential

  • Experience in the processing of data and information and the statistical analysis of highly complex information, preferably in a health care setting
  • Experience in developing and designing data and measurement tools and techniques to support quality improvement
  • Presenting highly complex information to large internal and external groups in an understandable way
  • Experience of collecting and interpreting information to support change programmes
  • Experience of supporting quality improvement in professional sectors and in multi professional environments such as the NHS

Desirable

  • Using Quality improvement methodologies
  • Developing and delivering quality improvement training, specifically in relation to data and measurement

Aptitude and abilities

Essential
