Job summary
This post is an excellent opportunity for an enthusiastic, motivated pharmacy technician to join our friendly pharmacy team in delivering a high quality pharmacy service to a range of inpatient, mental health and learning disabilities, wards, both on and off the main hospital site. The post holder will also be involved in supporting community based mental health teams
We are committed to the extended role of technicians, and you will be encouraged to develop your skills in all aspects of hospital pharmacy practice in our department.Applicants will hold a valid BTEC & NVQ level 3 Pharmaceutical Science Certificate and be registered as a Pharmacy Technician with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC). However, applicants who do not meet the requirements of the Band 5 role, are encouraged to apply and will need to attain the qualification within the first year of employment and will be appointed under Annex 21 rules. During this first year payment will be 75% of the top rate of Band 5 pay. You will receive dedicated support and supervision to help you to progress into the Band 5 role. Not meeting the qualification within the specified timeframe may lead to potential re-deployment.If you have the ability to work using your own initiative, have good communication skills, a high level of accuracy and are keen to develop your skills this is the job for you!
Main duties of the job
Main duties include:
Provide dispensary services and a medicines management service to inpatient wards including adult and older people's mental health, forensics and learning disabilities. Also providing support to Community Mental Health Teams (CMHT's)
Being part of the ward MDT and the wider pharmacy team. This includes being part of the pharmacy weekend rota in Morriston Hospital and bank holiday rota in Cefn Coed Hospital.
The pharmacy team has a proven track record of innovation and delivering excellent patient care as part of the wider MDT. You will be joining a supportive team where the focus is about working hard but having the correct work life balance. The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.
