Job summary

  • To work as a skilled member of the nursing team to assist in the provision of high standards of holistic family centred care to children and their families.
  • Ability to promote family centred care and establish good relationships with children and their families.
  • To communicate effectively with the multi-disciplinary team.
  • To be able to take charge of the unit in the absence of the nurse in charge
  • To be able to deliver a high standard of critical care skills to children within the unit
  • To work within the Paediatric Directorate across the Health Board
  • To deliver High Dependency Care to patients

Main duties of the job

Are you a registered children's nurse who would like to join a team at Morriston Hospital caring for children and young people within children services. Have you the motivation and commitment to provide evidenced based care whilst exercising a children rights based approach, then we would love to welcome you to our team.

The post holder will be responsible for delivering a high standard of specialist evidence based care to children and their families within the paediatric High Dependency and the acute paediatric wards. The post holder will be a key member in relation to development of practice on the ward. They will be working independently/autonomously without direct supervision, accountable for own professional actions.

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.
