Job summary

A vacancy has arisen for a skilled and highly motivated registered mental health nurse to join the Uned Goabaith team. Uned Gobaith is a Perinatal mental health inpatient service based at Tonna Hospital. The 6 Bedded Inpatient unit, hosted by the healthboard, serves the South Wales Region with a highly specialised environment providing assessment, care and treatment to mothers experiencing severe mental illness during the perinatal period, whilst maintaining and nurturing the mother-infant relationship.

The successful candidate will work as a Registered Nurse within the regional Mother and Baby Inpatient Unit. Delivering evidence based assessment, care and treatment, in line with agreed plans of care for women experiencing severe mental illness during the perinatal period, and their infants

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.

Main duties of the job

The successful candidate will work as part of a multi-disciplinary team, undertaking all aspects of day to day nursing activity within the ward environment, delivering high quality evidence based care and treatment. The successful candidate will be self motivated and eager to engage in service development activity contributing to the ongoing development of this recently set up service.

Please note - the Unit working pattern is long day and night shifts - 07:00-19:30 and 19:00-07:30 - the successful candidate will need to be able to work across both shift patterns on an equal basis.

About us

Swansea Bay University Health Board (formerly ABMU) was created on 1 April 2019, after responsibility for providing healthcare services in the Bridgend County Borough Council area passed from ABMU to the new Cwm Taf Morgannwg University Health Board.Swansea Bay UHB covers a population of around 390,000 in the Neath Port Talbot and Swansea areas and we have a budget of around £1bn.
