This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced pharmacist to contribute to the enhancement of patient care and drive continuous improvement within our pharmacy services. You will play a pivotal role in elevating pharmacy services in a dynamic and fast-paced acute hospital setting.
The successful candidate will have the opportunity to lead, develop & provide high quality research, audit and service improvement to the pharmacy department.
The opportunity for projects are endless within a forward thinking and patient orientated pharmacy service. Opportunities include maximising the potential of electronic prescribing, the impact of pharmacist prescribing and the reduction in medicines waste.
Support and mentoring will be provided to the successful candidate to ensure that you fulfil your potential in the exciting and challenging role, including ongoing development in QIP and data analytics.
Main duties of the job
This role will have many duties which include but are not limited to:
- Quality Assurance and Compliance: Ensure adherence to regulatory standards, policies, and procedures related to pharmacy services. Conduct regular audits and assessments to identify areas for improvement.
- Process Optimisation: Streamline pharmacy workflows and processes to enhance efficiency and minimize errors. Implement best practices to improve service to the patient and health-board.
- Clinical Governance: Work collaboratively with healthcare teams and senior pharmacy management to promote patient safety and positive outcomes. Provide expertise in medication safety and contribute to the development of clinical governance frameworks.
- Data Analysis and Reporting: Utilise data analytics to identify trends, monitor performance metrics, and generate reports. Translate findings into actionable insights to drive quality improvement initiatives.
- Training and Education: Develop and deliver training programs for pharmacy staff to ensure a high level of competency and compliance with quality standards. Stay updated on the latest advancements in pharmacy practice and share knowledge with the team.
