Job summary

A fantastic opportunity to join the Swansea Bay University Health Board Finance Team, as part of the Operational Finance Team (OFT).

Following promotions within the Department there is a full time Band 3 post within the 3 specific areas below that we are looking to recruit into. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a team responsible for:

  1. Creditors- Contributing to the processing of invoices in the Continuing Health Care Finance Team using an all-Wales database.
  2. Cash Management - which provides advice on all cash management issues and controls the Health Board's cash processes and systems.
  3. Debtors - which all income due to the health board is received, including the raising of invoices.
  4. Providing financial advice across the Health Board to support management processes.

We are looking to recruit dynamic, forward-thinking individual, who want to change and improve the way things are done within the Team and provide a first-class service for the NHS. The Department is looking to encourage and support individuals in their development either through on the job learning and/or through supporting formal accountancy qualifications.

Main duties of the job

Creditors

  • To ensure that all CHC transactions are processed in accordance with set policies & procedures
  • To work in a team responsible for ensuring that invoices & credit notes are processed promptly & accurately through the National Complex Care Database in accordance with HB's procedures
  • To generate month end & year end financial reports to support the accrual process as part of the closedown process

Cash

  • To ensure Cash transactions are processed in accordance with set policies & procedures within strict timescales
  • To investigate enquiries & queries which may be of a complex or sensitive nature
  • Dealing with customers including patients managers & external organisations to provide assistance & advice
  • To support the Cash & Bank Reconciliations in an accurate & timely manner

Debtors

  • To ensure that all AR transactions are processed in accordance with set policies & procedures & within strict timescales in order that the HB can provide information for set statutory returns
  • To investigate enquiries & queries which may be of a complex or sensitive nature
  • Inputs & processes financial information ensuring that maximum income is generated for the HB in accordance with policies & procedures
  • To assist in the overall management of the Compensation Recovery Unit system, ensuring income is maximised & collected on a timely basis & that accruals are calculated on a mthly
  • To work on team responsible for ensuring that invoices & credit notes are processed promptly & accurately
