Job summary

The Mental Health and Learning Disabilities Learning and Development team have an exciting opportunity for a Band 6, full time, Practice Development Nurse. Although based in Tonna Hospital the role extends across all of the Mental Health and Learning Disabilities services provided by Swansea Bay University Health Board. If you have a keen interest in developing your skills in education; if you enjoy supporting others (clinical supervision, reflective practice); if you like connecting with colleagues from a wide variety of services and teams; if you are keen to develop your skills using digital platforms and if you are a dedicated professional; then we would like to welcome you as a member of the Learning and Development Team.

Main duties of the job

1. To assist in the development and delivery of training, education, professional development across the Mental Health & Learning Disability service group of SBUHB.2. To support nurses, including students to meet their mandatory training and continuing professional development needs.3. The post holder will support the Training, Education and Professional Development Lead to ensure robust processes are in place to deliver training and development programmes and to monitor the effectiveness and quality of training and development programmes.4. The post holder will represent the Training, Education and Professional Development Lead at Health Board wide training, education, professional development and research forums as requested.5. The post holder will have a key role in supporting the vision and supportive infrastructure that reflects Corporate and service group objectives, where training, education and development needs are planned in conjunction with national policy, strategy and changing professional knowledge base.6. The post holder will adhere to The NMC Code of Professional Standards of Practice and behaviour for Nurses and Midwives (2018) and will ensure they maintain their nursing registration through proper revalidation.
