Job summary

We are currently looking to recruit a full time Band 3 Activity Co-ordinator. As part of modernisation of learning disability services, Hafod Y Wennol is looking for a candidate who is interested in working with individuals assessed as suitable for step down from low secure and locked rehab facilities.

We offer support to our Service Users over 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Therefore, the successful candidate will be required to work flexibly, working five days per week 8 hours shifts with some duties between the hours of 9am and 10pm, including weekends dependent on the needs of the service users.

All successful Candidates will be offered the opportunity to achieve nationally recognised qualifications, developed to meet the training needs of Staff working with people with Learning Disabilities.

Main duties of the job

The successful candidate will work closely with the nursing team and feedback to the multi-disciplinary team providing activities and rehabilitation to support individuals to live independently in their local area. Previous experience in a similar area of work would be beneficial, with knowledge and experience of working with individuals with Learning Disabilities, Mental Health Issues, a forensic history and who may present with complex Behaviours that challenge.

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.
