Job summary
Due to the expansion of surgical services on the Morriston site, an opportunity has arisen to join the reception team on the Surgical Assessment Unit.
The successful candidate will become part of an established team, helping to provide a high quality administration and reception service to the patient, relatives and the multi-disciplinary team . Facilitating the smooth, efficient and effective running of the unit.
Based at Morriston Hospital, Surgical Assessment Unit the post holder must possess excellent communication and organisation skills, providing a welcoming reception service, meeting and greeting all visitors to the department. The post holder must possess good IT skills in order to facilitate safe patient admission the unit, utilising the Health Boards computerised systems.

Main duties of the job
The Surgical Assessment Unit currently have a range of fulltime and part time vacancies for a Receptionist.
You will be expected to work on a rota basis, covering both SAU and Surgical Short Stay. You will be expected to to work a range of shifts over a seven- day period, which will include evenings and bank holidays between 07:00 hours and midnight.
The reception team provide a professional service that complies with procedural guidelines and quality standards and also responsible for the following duties:
Entering data onto various trust controlled systems.
Full reception duties of the Surgical Assessment Unit.
Speaking to the public over the phone.
Booking outpatient appointments.
Processing patient information.
Ordering, sorting and arranging patient's clinical notes, ensuring they are available when needed.
