Job summary

A unique and exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic, motivated individual to join our well established Cardiac Rehabilitation Service as a Band 5 Exercise Practitioner. You will assist the physiotherapy and exercise team in delivering rehabilitation to the wide ranging cardiac population across Swansea Bay UHB. You will also be expected to complete a range of administrative tasks.

You will be based in Swansea (Morriston Hospital) but be expected to cover across Swansea Bay UHB as the service requires.

Main duties of the job

To support physiotherapists, the exercise team and occasionally wider MDT in the assessment and provision of rehabilitation to patients with cardiac conditions.

The service focuses on enabling and empowering individuals to achieve their rehabilitation potential and maintain a maximal level of function as dictated by their condition.

The post is line managed by the Clinical Lead Physiotherapist for cardiac rehabilitation and clinical work is guided by the Exercise Professional. Guided by policies & procedures and established precedents the post holder is required to work unsupervised, undertaking independent interventions and decision making within agreed protocols in hospital and community settings, although supervision and support is readily available.

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.
