Job summary
The Health Care Assistant/ stock controller will be responsible for ordering, receiving and processing the medical and surgical stores within Paediatrics, through appropriate ordering, using the Oracle ordering system. The post holder will also be responsible for the cleanliness and accessibility of each stock area. The post holder will be responsible in supervising and supporting the health care assistants in maintaining stock levels and cleanliness of the unit.
Main duties of the job
Be responsible for ordering Medical/Surgical sundries, as and when is required. Ensuring that items are ordered on the appropriate date. Maintaining adequate stock levels to meet the unit needs. Prioritise orders and deliveries as per departmental needs, adjusting orders as per need. Initiate emergency order when required.
Organise the delivery of purchases.
oEnsure appropriate storage of each item and put CSSD items away. Resolve stock issues, including stock deficiency, damaged goods and unclear orders using own initiative
oKeep clinical rooms, store, HSDU, dirty utility, milk rooms, linen room and shelves clean and tidy.
oKeep invoices and documentation correctly filed.
oCheck items on selves are used within strict date rotation.
