Job summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic Health Care Support Worker to join our busy and friendly team in the Gynaecology Outpatient Department, Singleton Hospital.
We are looking for a Band 2 with a caring and compassionate attitude and someone who will be reliable and have a flexible approach to work. Good communication skills along with good organisational and interpersonal skills are essential for this role.
We have a wide variety of general gynaecology clinics which include uro-gynae, fertility, rapid access, emergency gynaecology and a nurseledearly pregnancy clinic. The gynaecology team are looking to develop a more ambulatory service which will also include out-patient hysteroscopy.
The successful applicant will be responsible for assisting and chaperoning the gynaecology consultants working as part of a multi - disciplinary team. As a team we aim to provide a supportive environment for patients and their relatives when dealing with sensitive and emotional issues.
The successful candidate will need to have a passion for women health. Previous experience in working in gynaecology is desirable but not essential as the department will provide excellent training opportunities to develop your skills and knowledge across a variety of gynaecology clinics.
Main duties of the job
Working as part the team you will support members of the nursing team in providing a high quality service. The role involves supporting women in clinics, setting up clinics and assisting with the procedures. Some administrative duties will also be required as part of the role including oracle and stock ordering for the department.
The clinics run Monday to Friday therefore flexible working is required.
If you have previous experience working within a healthcare setting and /or healthcare qualifications, we are very keen to hear from you.
