Job summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and motivated Band 5 Registered Nurse to join our team on Ward A Neath Port Talbot Hospital.
The successful candidate will work within the nursing team which is a 12 bedded Breast Care and Urology Ward. The post holder will be required to work as part of the current seven day service, which includes bank holidays, weekends and nights. A variety of full time and part time posts are available.
Ward A offers a friendly and dynamic working environment and has a strong work ethic of working together for best outcomes for our patients and delivering high quality care.
Previous surgical nursing experience is advantageous but not essential and the post is open to experienced nurses and newly qualified staff nurses alike. We offer a supportive preceptorship programme and work closely with the clinical practice development team to provide ongoing study and training opportunities to complement the clinical environment and enhance your skills.
We are looking for individuals with good clinical interpersonal and communication skills, who are willing and able to adapt to change and to work individually within their level of competence.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.
Main duties of the job
The post holder is responsible for the assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of evidenced-based nursing care, working collaboratively and co-operatively with others to meet the needs of patients and their families.
Assist in the management and organisation of their clinical area and participating in the education, development and supervision of other staff members.
