Job summary
This role suports the 3D digital planning/imaging and research activity of the Maxillofacial Unit Laboratory, Morriston Hospital.The post-holder whilst providing a clinical technical service will assist with the day to day import and manipulation of various modalities of digital clinical data such as 3D CT and MRI for the creation of prostheses, stents, guides, implants and other devices working under the guidance of the Maxillofacial Prosthetists /Reconstructive Scientists within the department.
The post holder will also contribute to the ongoing research projects This will include support with, co-ordination and submission of consequent data, the completion of national and local regulatory documentation.
Whilst experience in 3D design and clinical research processes would be advantageous, full training will be provided and this post can be considered as a development post for those who wish to pursue a career within the NHS.
Main duties of the job
Coordinate the 3D surgical plans required by Head and Neck Department liaising with Techical and Clincal Staff.
Import 3D data such as CT, MRI and surface scans ready for planning.
Aid in the planning, design and manufacture of medical devices such as guides, stents and prostheses.
Participate and coordinate Maxillofacial Laboratory Research.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.

Downloads and imports variety of data from hospital IT infrastructure orlocally stored media.3. Examines data and chooses appropriate software package for the manipulation of data and carries this out.4. Recognizes when data integrity is compromised and alerts line manager.5.
