Applications are invited for a dynamic, forward-thinking Locum Specialty Doctor to provide support to our Consultants and work within the Specialist Neuro-rehabilitation Unit at Neath Port Talbot Hospital.
The Specialist Regional Neuro-rehabilitation unit based at Neath Port Talbot Hospital, is one of only 2 specialist Neuro-rehabilitation Centres in Wales and has a multi-disciplinary workforce made up of medical, nursing, psychology and therapy workforce. You will join a cohesive, friendly multi-disciplinary medical team within an excellent modern working environment.
Neath Port Talbot Hospital consists of 100 medical beds for patients who have received acute care in one of the two acute hospitals but have ongoing reduced level medical needs and/or need further inpatient rehabilitation and discharge planning.
Main duties of the job
This is a fixed term contract for 12 months. The job will be contracted for 10 sessions per week working 9-5pm and will be based on the 13 bedded Neuro-rehabilitation unit at Neath Port Talbot Hospital
The post will be joining a team of two Consultants responsible for the provision of Neuro-Rehabilitation services to the Health Board. In this post, you will be an integral part of the multi-disciplinary specialist rehabilitation team, working to deliver excellent patient care
About us
Swansea Bay University Health Board has responsibility for the health of around 390,000 people in the Neath Port Talbot and Swansea areas, with a budget of around £1 billion and employing 12,500 people.
