Job summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Band 7 Primary Care Lead Occupational Therapist to join Adult Mental Health Services within SBUHB. Initially, the role will provide clinical input and leadership into Local Primary Mental Health Support Service (LPMHSS ) OT Team, whilst also offering OT oversight and leadership to a number of other services including Early Intervention Psychosis (EIP) Team and Perinatal Services. This post therefore requires a compassionate, dynamic and highly skilled OT who has the ability to be flexible in their approach to meet patient needs and service demands.
We are seeking an individual with excellent clinical skills who is enthusiastic, flexible and highly motivated, to lead a team of OT staff within an integrated multidisciplinary team. This post involves close working relationships with the senior multidisciplinary team in driving service development, and involvement in the wider OT service across the Adult Mental Health Service

Main duties of the job
To manage a defined caseload within specialist area, using evidence based / client centred principles to assess, plan, implement and evaluate the outcomes of intervention
To organise this efficiently and effectively with regard to clinical priorities and use of time.
To work in partnership with clients, carers and all stake holders including the multidisciplinary team to identify relevant goals and support service development.
To provide leadership and supervision to the OT staff across Adult Mental Health Services
To regularly supervise Occupational Therapy students on practice placements.
To be a clinical leader for Occupational Therapy within identified specialist area leading by example, demonstrating good practice, openness and responsiveness to emerging evidence.
To provide highly developed expertise within the MDT setting.
