Swansea Bay UHB Urgent Primary Care Out of Hours Service (UPC OOHs) is offering an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated, enthusiastic and experienced GP to join their Clinical Management team. To help ensure the safe, effective and efficient delivery of the UPC OOHs Service across SBUHB including implementation of best practice and guidance. You will also participate in the one in five on-call rota.

Swansea Bay UHB has responsibility for the health of over 270,000 people and is one of the largest providers of integrated healthcare in the UK. With a budget of over £1 billion and employing 17,000 people, the Health Board provides acute, tertiary, intermediate, mental health, community and primary care services to people in Bridgend, Neath, Port Talbot, Swansea and beyond. We are a University Health Board working in partnership with Swansea University, Swansea School of Medicine, the School of Health Science and the Institute of Life Science

Main duties of the job

The Clinical Manager is responsible for assisting the Clinical Director Urgent Primary Care and the Clinical Advisors Urgent Primary Care in:

  • The safe, effective and efficient delivery of Out of Hours Services across Swansea Bay UHB including implementation of best practice and guidance. Ensuring that the principles of prudent healthcare are at the forefront of service planning and delivery.
  • The implementation of the Health Board's Quality Strategy and annual Plan within Out of Hours Services. There will be a strong emphasis on Quality Improvement in the service ("always improving").
  • Ensuring that the Health Board's values are demonstrated at all times by medical staff.
  • Ensuring that the service is well managed, developed and directed to provide care that is safe, compassionate, consistently of excellent quality and always improving; in line with our Values and Behaviour Framework and Quality Strategy.
  • Support the delivery of innovation, service redesign and improvement to support the Health Board strategy.
