The Role of practice educator nurse is to support the training and professional development of staff and students working within Cancer services at singleton on Ward 12 and chemotherapy day unit. To ensure that nursing care and delivery is updated and implemented in line with evidence based , best practice to enable patients to receive high quality, safe dignified care. Cancer services is exciting and evolving providing great learning and educational opportunities. Anti cancer drugs are advancing at a great rate and treatment options and life expectancy increasing.

Main duties of the job

Do you have oncology experience? Can you demonstrate effective leadership skills? Do you like a challenge? Are you passionate about teaching ?This is an exciting opportunity to join Cancer services at Singleton Hospital within the South West Wales Cancer Centre.The post holder will work collaboratively with SACT Nurse specialist, Matron and support senior nurses to create an effective learning environment within Ward 12 and Chemotherapy day unit. Main Aims being

To provide professional leadership.

To support the training and development of nurses within Cancer services.

To support nurses through SACT Training and safe administering of SACT Treatment within ward 12 and chemotherapy day unit.

To Support the training and development of health care support workers and assessing their competency to deliver aspects of nursing care under the delegation of a registered nurse.

To Support pre registration students and those HCSW undertaking further education to achieve their competencies and have a positive learning experience.

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.
