For more information, see 'Welsh Language Guidance' in the documents right at the bottom.
Main duties of the job
The Aseptic Service manufactures medicines in specialised clean room environments for patients across Cwm Taf UHB and beyond. The items manufactured include chemotherapy, intravenous feeds for adults and premature babies and other intravenous therapies.
The main responsibilities will include assembling and aseptically preparing medicines, carrying out quality control procedures such as environmental monitoring, cleaning of restricted areas, alarm testing and reviewing these values to highlight out of specification results. There will be a need for stock levels to be reviewed regularly to ensure required products are ordered.
You will need to have an attention for detail and be methodical and accurate. You will also have to have good keyboard skills as the post will involve documentation creation on software systems and entering environmental monitoring data into the Quality Assurance System software. You must possess excellent communication and organisational skills in order to provide an efficient and safe pharmacy service for patients and the running of the service in a busy environment.
The candidate will require (or be in a position to undertake) the NVQ level 2 Units relating to Aseptic Services (or to have recent knowledge and practice of aseptic processes, documentation, computer systems and be able to complete) the NVQ Pharmacy Manufacturing Modules.
