Job summary
The Eating Disorder Outreach Service is seeking to recruit a Band 7 Dietitian 22.5 hours a week. EDOS is a South Wales Tier 4 JCC funded service that provides specialist eating disorder training, consultation, supervision and targeted treatments to young people and families. The dietitian is an integral part of the multi-disciplinary team and takes part in all EDOS clinical activities including multi-family groups and parent coaching interventions.
EDOS is seeking to extend its work into an Intensive Day Service in the coming months and therefore would welcome dietetic colleagues who have an interest in such work.
Welsh Desirable (Level 3 or above in Speaking/Listening) This role is categorised as 'Welsh Desirable' in Speaking/Listening meaning that whilst the candidate doesn't need to have skills in Welsh, we'll consider it an advantage when short-listing candidates. Level 3 in Speaking/Listening means being able to hold a conversation in Welsh about everyday things and every day work matters. It isn't about being 'fluent' or writing long reports in Welsh. Just everyday, conversational Welsh so that you can talk to patients in Welsh and English. Maybe you went to a Welsh school but may be underconfident, or haven't used your Welsh for a while. Remember Welsh belongs to everyone so be confident in your ability and apply!
Main duties of the job
The overall aim is to provide Dietetic expertise and intervention as part of the Tier 4 Eating Disorder Outreach Service.
To provide a specialist dietetic resource within South, Mid and West Wales offering consultation, advice and joint working.
To work autonomously managing highly specialist complex clients with Eating Disorders, identifying, planning and delivering highly specialist dietetic interventions, demonstrating expertise in this area of clinical speciality, including anorexia, bulimia and ARFID.
To demonstrate clinical effectiveness by the use of evidence based outcomes.
Lead on specific clinical audit/research projects within area of speciality.To develop departmental policy and participate in national policy development as required.
To work in collaboration with Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS) and Paediatric multidisciplinary teams, identifying service improvements and taking forward strategic developments in Wales.
Act as a source of expertise to other colleagues working within dietetics and other CAMHS in Wales.
Educate and train dietetic students, colleagues and other health care professionals.
