Job summary
This post offers an opportunity to an individual to work within an administrative environment within the Medical Records Department either in the Royal Glamorgan Hospital or Prince Charles Hospitals.
The post will involve providing support for Outpatient Clinics, managing Outpatient Waiting Lists and booking appointments on the Welsh PAS system.
The successful candidate will be communicating with patients over the telephone. Knowledge of the Welsh PAS system, RTT rules are desirable.
On the job training will be undertaken and the successful candidate must be numerate, literate and able to work under pressure.
The hours of these posts are as follows - Monday - Friday - 08:30 - 16:30. but flexibility is essential.
Main duties of the job
The successful candidates will be joining a well established First Appointments Team responsible for the management of Outpatient Waiting lists.
Duties include : Booking appointments in priority and date order, initiating the partial booking process and communicating with patients over the telephone.
The successful candidate must have excellent keyboard skills and have a flexible approach to work as evening and weekends will be necessary.
Welsh Skills Desirable: This post is advertised as Welsh Desirable. This doesn't mean essential; whilst the candidate doesn't need to have skills in Welsh, we'll consider it an advantage when short-listing and selecting candidates. This isn't 'fluency', just Speaking & Listening skills at Level 3 (equivalent to CEFR B2) or above. Level 3 means basic conversations with patients about their everyday health.
