Job summary
We are looking for an experienced Band 7 SLT to work with children with a wide range of complex needs.
You will join the complex needs team, and have responsibility for children with communication and eating, drinking and swallowing difficulties. You will manage children across children's centres, schools and wards with support from the wider Paediatric Team. You will provide management and leadership for the SLT's and TI's providing to our caseloads.
Whilst we require recruitment of therapists with dysphagia competencies, we invite applications from all therapists ready to take on a band 7 role in complex needs.
The children's SLT Team uses Malcommess Care Aims principles across the service in conjunction with many of the MDT Team. The children's SLT service has a range of clinical specialist posts available for support and second opinions and staff are fully support by both a line management structure , Band 8 Paediatric Leads and an Admin Team.
Main duties of the job
To provide highly specialist speech & language therapy to babies and children and young people with a range of highly complex communication and eating, drinking and swallowing disorders.
To work effectively in a multidisciplinary health team in managing babies and young children with complex health and learning difficulties.

Welsh Skills Desirable: This post is advertised as Welsh Desirable. This doesn't mean essential; whilst the candidate doesn't need to have skills in Welsh, we'll consider it an advantage when short-listing and selecting candidates. This isn't "fluency", just Speaking & Listening skills at Level 3 (equivalent to CEFR B2) or above. Level 3 means basic conversations with patients about their everyday health.
