This is a fixed term post (up to 12 months), covering maternity leave.
The post holder is required to:
- Provide clinical expertise across board area of community paediatrics
- Participate in the development of the service model, supporting colleagues in the establishment of a Multi-Disciplinary Service including Pathway Development
- Provide liaison work at all levels with other health staff and community agencies working with children, adolescents and their families
- Provide clinical care located where necessary - for instance clinics based in Special Schools and other community location
- Work closely with colleagues in Education, Local Authoriy and third sector in the delivery of services for children and young people with complex disorders.
- Work within the team to ensure robust outcome measures
- Work closely with all agencies involved in child care and observe the local safeguarding procedures

Essential
- Full GMC registration & Licence to practice (1) On the GMS Specialist Register OR within six months of CCT at time of scheduled interview (1) Higher Degree, e.g., MSc, MD, PhD in Paediatrics (1)
Experience
Essential
- Is able to demonstrate having achieved the competencies equivalent to the Highest Specialist Paediatric Training. (1) At least 2 years General Professional Training in Paediatrics (1) Achieved competencies in level 3 child protection training (1)
Knowledge

- Effective leadership; ability to take responsibility and demonstrate leadership when appropriate (1) Understands and can apply the principles of Prudent Healthcare ("Caring for each other") (1) Excellent interpersonal skills - ability to communicate effectively (written and verbal) with patients, colleagues, relatives and staff; communicate openly and honestly and explain things clearly ("Caring for each other") (1) Willingness to teach all grades of professional multidisciplinary staff (1)
