Job summary

The phlebotomy team are staff members of Pathology at Royal Glamorgan Hospital.

As a phlebotomist you will join the Rota and will be required to collect blood samples providing a service to the wards and outpatient department areas. a robust training programme will be given to ensure the appropriate skill and knowledge is achieved therefore ensuring a good quality of sample can be analyzed accurately by Haematology, biochemistry microbiology and blood bank.

Main duties of the job

An exciting opportunity has arisen within Cwm Taf Morgannwg University Health Board Clinical Haematology Department

The pathology directorate is looking to appoint a phlebotomist to the existing team. The post holder will be based at Royal Glamorgan Hospital on a permanent full time post of 15 hour contract set over 5 days but when required will join the team to deliver a safe and efficient phlebotomy service provide cover on all sights within CTMUHB. The post holder will work closely with the phlebotomy supervisor. the post holder will be required to work within the phlebotomy team and work independently to perform phlebotomy duties in the outpatient setting and ward areas within CTMUHB. we are looking for an enthusiastic and adaptable individual with good communication skills and a background in patient care. the skill and knowledge of venepuncture are desirable but not essential.
