Job summary
The successful applicant's role will be to support the provision of health care to the people of Rhondda and Taff, contributing to a 24 hour a day, 7 day a week provision of a Crisis Resolution Home Treatment Service for clients experiencing a mental health crisis.
This will involve both lone and joint assessments of people's mental health and working with people in their own home for client's identified as suitable for home treatment for their acute mental health problem.
The role requires multi-level liaison, including with A&E, Crisis teams in RGH, Primary Care, Community Mental Health Teams, the police, Welsh Ambulance Service and other specialist services.
The successful applicant will have excellent skills in risk assessment and management, communication, team working and networking and will have robust coping skills in decision making and autonomous working. The successful applicant will also have an experienced working knowledge of the Mental Health Act and will be IT literate.
Main duties of the job
- To take responsibility for a crisis assessments and a home treatment caseload providing comprehensive assessment, care and treatment to clients in both situations.
- Foster robust working relationships with other secondary mental health services and all partners in particular Local Authority and Primary Care.
- Contribute to the continuing improvement and development of crisis resolution home treatment services.
