Job summary
There are x2 Full time - 37.5 hours per week Deputy Senior Nurse posts available (x1 post to cover Cynon, x1 post to cover Rhondda)
The post holder will have responsibility for the following :
Provide strong visible leadership within Health Visiting.
Support the senior management team in taking forward the quality agenda, in relation to Health Visiting and the public health agenda.
Support the Senior Nurse, Health Visiting in delivering on the Health Visiting strategic priorities incorporating activity across the public sector and the Third Sector.
Operationally line manage a skill mix team of Health Visitors, providing support and supervision as required.
Provide expert clinical advice and support as per the Healthy Child Wales Programme (HCWP).
With the Senior Nurse, take forward Health Visiting service initiatives and programmes of work ensuring effective governance underpins the same.
Support the inequality and early intervention agenda.
With the Senior Nurse progress the research and development agenda within the profession.
Work autonomously within Health Board policies and procedures.
Work closely with Senior Nurses, Head of Nursing and Deputy Head of Nursing; delivering on specific priorities.
Work is managed but indirectly.

DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
The post holder will :
Support the Senior Nurse Health Visiting in providing strong professional leadership within the profession.
Assist the Senior Nurse to ensure the delivery of strategic objectives and performance targets with regard to all aspects of Health Visiting business eg. Healthy Child Wales programme (HCWP WG 2015) and associated activity.
Provide Health Visitors with expert clinical advice and support for their caseload management and case by case support and supervision as required.
Provide expert clinical advice, support and recommendations to the Health Visitors in relation to the delivery of the HCWP to the clinical caseload.
Support Health Visitors in the management of their caseloads, undertaking family engagement and reviews as required.
Support the development and implementation of clinical audit, ensuring compliance with HCWP pathways and protocols for practice.
With the Senior Nurse, interpret and critically analyse local and national policies, frameworks and guidance and make recommendations for new/amended practice.
Develop specific programmes of work to address health inequalities aligned with local healthneeds.
With the Senior Nurse, develop and implement strategies, policies and procedures with regard to programmes of work ensuring robust governance around the models.
