Job summary
We are seeking a compassionate, dependable, and well-organised Band 2 Healthcare Support Worker/Administrator to join our dedicated Stoma Care team. This is a dual-role position that combines direct patient support with essential administrative responsibilities, contributing to the smooth and effective delivery of high quality care.
Main duties of the job
Provide stoma care support to patients on the ward and in clinical areas, under the guidance of the Stoma Care Nursing Team, ensuring a kind and respectful approach at all times.
Act as a point of contact for stoma patients, relatives and health care professionals, face to face contact, by phone, email etc.
Booking and confirming patient appointments and prepping CNS workload for clinic.
Ordering of stock for department, supporting the team with general office tasks, contribute to data collection and audit for service improvement.
Perform a range of administrative duties including: Answering and triaging incoming telephone calls in a professional and timely manner.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with patients, carers, and multidisciplinary team members.
Must have an understanding and adhere to confidentiality, data protection and infection control policies.
Proficiency in using IT systems, including Microsoft Office and patient record systems, WPAS, WCP.
A flexible and proactive approach to working, with a commitment to providing compassionate patient-centered care and maintaining mandatory training and team meetings.
