Day Surgery Ward Clerk

Job summary
We are looking for a motivated person to join our New busy Day Sugery Unit at PCH. The Unit is open Monday to Friday between 07:30 and 22:00 with clerical support until 18:00.
The role will require working with colleagues as a team and also independantly when required.
The successful candidate will be required to liaise with MDT service users so good communication skills are essential.
Time management is essential due to fast flow of patients through the unit and supporting documents needed in a timely manner.
Main duties of the job
To faciltate the day to day needs of the service including
Preparing patient packs for surgery
Admitting and discharging patients on myrddin and Theatre management systems such as TOMS
Liaising with multiple clinics in other settings regarding follow up appointments.
Requesting notes in a timely manner and returning them once complete.
Attending session planning meetings to anticipate requirements for 6 weeks in advance.
Pre operative patient calls to minimise on the day cancellations.
Welsh Skills Desirable: This post is advertised as Welsh Desirable. This doesn't mean essential; whilst the candidate doesn't need to have skills in Welsh, we'll consider it an advantage when short-listing and selecting candidates. This isn't 'fluency', just Speaking & Listening skills at Level 3 (equivalent to CEFR B2) or above. Level 3 means basic conversations with patients about their everyday health.
