Job summary
The Occupational Health (OH) Service works to "promote good health, safety and welfare in work, collaboratively facilitating the right support, at the right time in the right way". The post holder will be an experienced Occupational Health Nurse with previous NHS experience. They are responsible for providing a comprehensive evidence-based occupational health exemplary service to Cwm Taf Morgannwg University Health Board (CTMUHB) and Cardiff and Vale University Health Board (CAVUHB) employees and other external contracts.
Main duties of the job
They willassist CTMUHB/CAVUHB in managing its Occupational Health responsibilities in line with legislation, compliance with national and local guidance relating to fitness to work for new starters and those employed. The post holder will work with the Senior Management Team to develop and implement collaborative working model across CAVUHB and CTMUHB Occupational Health Services.
The post holder will exercise considerable initiative, work autonomously and will establish relationships with service users and agencies. They will be a key player in the rapidly evolving occupational health service in line with current Occupational Health initiatives on multiple sites.
They will managenew/less experienced Occupational Health Nurses and HealthCare Support Workers and assist with ensuring CTMUHB and CAVUHB provides a safe effective, quality Occupational Health Service.
The post holder will be required to contribute with strategic work, including attendance at key meetings representing Occupational Health e.g. Health and Safety, Strategic Immunisation Group, Infection Prevention and Control Committee. They will interdepartmentally take a lead for specific projects e.g. Computer database superuser, Continual Professional Development lead, mentor for new staff.

- Master's Degree or its equivalent level of knowledge and advanced postgraduate training/experience.

- SCPHN(OH)-Part 3 NMC register
- NEBOSH certificate
