Job summary

PLEASE NOTE THAT WE WILL ONLY ACCEPT APPLICATIONS FROM STAFF CURRENTLY EMPLOYED BY NHS WALES

An exciting secondment opportunity has arisen for a Corporate Governance Officer to cover a period of Maternity leave for 12 months, from start date.

We are looking to appoint a meticulous individual who is highly organised and efficient in order to support the work of the Corporate Governance Team.

As an experienced administrator with a track record of servicing Board level committees, the post holder will be part of an experience and professional team but will be expected to work autonomously. This role is primarily focused on providing robus administrative support as Committee Secretariat to the Board's Committees, in order to ensure the smooth functioning of its activities in accordance with the Corporate Governance Framework. Reporting to the Head of Corporate Governance, and working closely with Executive Director Leads and Independent Member Chairs, the role will entail providing administrative support for the servicing of the Board's Committees including the development of Committee work programmes and formal reporting writing.

If you are interested in applying for it as a secondment, please obtain permission from your current line manager prior to applying.

Main duties of the job

This is a challenging role which will include the preparing, collating and dissemination of Committee and/or Board papers, as well as taking and transcribing formal minutes. The ability to maintain confidentiality and demonstrate tact and diplomacy at all times is essential, and to demonstrate commitment to the team by working flexibly to cover annual leave, sickness and training. The successful candidate should have knowledge of Corporate Governance and Committee Services. Advanced keyboard and computer skills as well as good interpersonal, organisational and communication skills are essential for this role.

This agile Working role will require the post holder to work autonomously in managing the workload and priorities to deliver the objectives of the function. Whilst the base for this role is set at Ynysmeurig house, Abercynon, there may be an element of hybrid working which may include working from other Health Board Premises as and when required.
