Job summary

Digital transformation is at the heart of the UHB's plans for delivering 'CTM 2030' Strategy. The UHB has set out its ambitions in the digital strategy that identifies a Digital Roadmap for Cwm Taf Morgannwg University Health Board (CTMUHB). This will enable the UHB to shape its digital agenda in the coming years, and contribute to the transformation of health services and improve patient experience, safety and outcomes.

The Chief Nursing Information Officer (CNIO) is a core member of both the Digital & Data Clinical Team and the Corporate Nursing Team, clinically accountable to CTMUHB providing nursing leadership and expert advice relating to the UHB's digital transformation programme.

As a transformational leader with exemplary clinical credibility, the CNIO will support the Assistant Director for Digital Transformation and the Chief Clinical Information Officer (CCIO) by providing senior nursing leadership to the UHB's digital transformation programme.

Main duties of the job

Identify opportunities to transform practice, and in partnership with the Senior Leadership Team will provide expert professional and clinical advice and guidance and will engage with key stakeholders to ensure patient and clinical involvement in the planning, development, delivery and evaluation of systems and services.

Work closely with the nursing community across all areas of Cwm Taf Morgannwg University Health Board (CTMUHB), and in partnership with the Digital & Data Senior Leadership Group, lead and inform the strategic direction required for equipping our Nursing, Midwifery and Allied Health Professional workforce to become digitally competent and confident as we transform our organisation to one that is Patient Centred Technology Driven.

Use specialist knowledge and expertise in clinical informatics and digital risk management to lead and inform the development of strategic plans for Digital & Data which impact across the whole of CTMUHB, to develop clinical risk management clinical design policies, and protocols which impact on the care of patients/clients and to be responsible for the implementation of these strategies and policies throughout the UHB.
