Job summary
Working independently the post holder is required to provide comprehensive administrative and clerical support for the Bridgend District Nursing service and the wider integrated health and social care team over a 7 day rota period, which will include weekends, bank holidays and evenings.
The Administrative Support Officer will utilise a variety of IT functions and systems in the District Nursing team, and have a wide knowledge of a range of clinical and non-clinical information systems.
The Administrative Support Officer will have excellent communication skills, and communicate effectively with the District Nursing Team, the wider multi-disciplinary team, patients and their relatives, with the ability to signpost individuals to the appropriate service when necessary.
The post holder will be required to use the Civica Scheduling tool, once given appropriate training to support District Nursing Service patient Caseload Management.
The post holder will be knowledgeable in Cwm Taf Morgannwg University Health Board policies and procedures.
Main duties of the job

Dealing with both face to face and telephone enquiries from both staff and members of the public, in a friendly and courteous manner maintaining utmost confidentiality at all times.
Input data onto spreadsheets on a daily basis (specific to the role).
Support staff in the use of IT packages.
Create and maintain accurate electronic patient archiving records in accordance with the Health Board records management and retention policy. Ensuring retrieval of any patient records following requests from an appropriate source in a timely manner.
To respond to complex queries, appropriately directed to the post-holder, in an effective and timely manner.
Behave consistently with the values and beliefs of the Health Board and promote these on a day-to-day basis.
Liaise and interact with other users and colleagues as and when required.
Maintain sound working relationships with other team members.
Use their initiative and take responsibility for themselves and the quality of their work and the service they provide to Community Network team and patients; work is managed rather than supervised.
