Job summary
This is a rare opportunity to join an established, integrated health and social care mental health support service based in Bridgend.
ARC Services is jointly funded by CTM UHB and Bridgend County Borough Council and works predominantly with mild to moderate, or severe but stable mental health presentations within the community.
The post sits within an established team, working alongside other occupational therapists, as well as a range of support staff. The service is co-located with the Local Primary Mental Health Support Service (LPMHSS) psychological therapy team and mental health social workers, with some collaborative working arrangements in place.
Main duties of the job
The post-holder will take referrals from a range of mental health services, including LPMHSS, psychiatric outpatients clinic and crisis and home treatment services, and will undertake specialist OT assessment, intervention planning and evaluation.
The post-holder will work collaboratively with individuals to identify personal goals and will implement a person centred plan, based on maximising levels of functioning and independence within the community. The post-holder will work closely with support staff to implement plans for those individuals on their caseload, and will regularly review and evaluate progress.
Welsh Skills Desirable: This post is advertised as Welsh Desirable. This doesn't mean essential; whilst the candidate doesn't need to have skills in Welsh, we'll consider it an advantage when short-listing and selecting candidates. This isn't 'fluency', just Speaking & Listening skills at Level 3 (equivalent to CEFR B2) or above. Level 3 means basic conversations with patients about their everyday health. For more information, see 'Welsh Language Guidance' in the documents right at the bottom.
