Job summary

An opportunity has arisen for a successful candidate to join our busy team of porter Services and based at Royal Glamorgan Hospital. The position will consist mainly of supporting driving duties but will also support all relevant porter duties as per role requirements.

The post is for 25 contracted hours weekly and will be managed for services Monday to Friday.

Main duties of the job

Porter services comprise of operational duties associated with waste, transport, community beds team, mail, support to cleaning services and general hospital porter duty functions.

The role will also contribute to the provision of healthcare for the Cwm Taf Morgannwg University Health Board (CTMUHB) by delivering a porter service which meets all organisational and legislative standards and support the Facilities Unit commitment to quality standards.

There will be a requirement to support driving services, either Van Scheduled services or Taxi services within Cwm Taf Morgannwg University Health Board Rhondda Taff Ely Region.

The role will also assist in developing, maintaining and promoting the highest standards of service delivery and team working practices, and helping to maintain open, effective communication.

Ensure a high quality service is delivered to patients, staff and visitors.

This doesn't mean essential; whilst the candidate doesn't need to have skills in Welsh, we'll consider it an advantage when short-listing and selecting candidates. This isn't 'fluency', just Speaking & Listening skills at Level 3 (equivalent to CEFR B2) or above. Level 3 means basic conversations with patients about their everyday health.

  • oEducated to a good standard of education or relative work experience. oCustomer services NVQ level 2 or equivalent level of knowledge and experience. oFull driving license. (Cat B license).

Desirable
