Job summary
The Head of Patient Flow will be a visible, authoritative and professional clinical leader with responsibility for patient flow and lead on all day-to-day and forward operational planning and decision making on the acute hospital site, liaising with multi professional colleagues throughout Princess of Wales Hospital and Cwm Taf Morgannwg University Health Board (CTMUHB).
This post is Fixed Term/Secondment for 12 months to meet the needs of the service.

Main duties of the job
The Head of Patient Flow has responsibility for the site/bed management teams and Hospital at Night Teams. This will include the management of staff involving recruitment, appraisal, CPD and performance.
Together with the Hospital General Manager and Head of Nursing, they will foster a culture that engages all staff in the development and delivery of patient flow across the site.
Welsh Skills Desirable: This post is advertised as Welsh Desirable. This doesn't mean essential; whilst the candidate doesn't need to have skills in Welsh, we'll consider it an advantage when short-listing and selecting candidates. This isn't 'fluency', just Speaking & Listening skills at Level 3 (equivalent to CEFR B2) or above. Level 3 means basic conversations with patients about their everyday health. - Masters qualification
- An appropriate postgraduate management and/ or professional qualification
- Bronze Process Management Training
- Evidence of leading in process improvement initiatives

- Relevant experience of patient flow in a leadership capacity
- ECDL or equivalent
- Welsh language speaking/listening skills at Level 3 or above
