Band 4 OT Technician - Paediatric

Job summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a full time Occupational Therapy Technician within our Paediatric service. Under the supervision of an occupational therapist, the post holder will be expected to contribute to the occupational therapy assessment process and provide occupational therapy intervention to children and young people within the CTMUHB area.

Main duties of the job

  • To work as part of a community team of OT's and OTT's (Occupational Therapy Technicians) for Children.
  • To manage a given caseload (assigned and monitored by a qualified OT).
  • To undertake specific clinical and administrative tasks, implement intervention programmes within the child's own home, school or community setting as instructed by the OT and responding flexibility to the needs of the service.
  • To support the OT by assisting with all modulates of therapeutic care e.g. assessments, groups and other joint interests with other disciplines (when appropriate).
  • To participate in departmental projects, audits, provision/monitoring of relevant data and statistics as service requires.
  • Develop a patient centred approach to engaging patients in routine therapeutic occupations following the aims/methods given by the OT, and to adjust own clinical interventions based on fluctuating needs of the child
