We're seeking a motivated and experienced professional tocoordinate logistics and staff within our Procurement Services, with a focus onWDA and vaccine management. You'll lead workflow planning, oversee skill mix, and deliver training for pharmacy staff pursuingNVQ Level 2 and 3 qualifications, including mentoring and appraisals.
In this role, you'll work within establishedtechnical pharmacy codes and procedures, supporting thePharmaceutical Service and Medicines Management agendaacross the UHB. Responsibilities includedispensing prescriptions, conductingtechnical checkson emergency drug boxes and over-labelled medicines, and collaborating with theMMPU and clinical procurement teamto manage medication shortages and source alternatives.

Main duties of the job
Manage the service and staff within the procurement, distribution and vaccine teams. Responsible for ensuring the supply of vaccine across CTM footprint to schools, Primary Care and CVCs.
Manage, develop and participate in the provision of specialist Pharmacy Procurement Services ensuring that the supply of medicines is cost effective. This role also involves management and utilisation of a WDA contract servicing customers across CTM.
Be responsible for implementing changes and continual quality improvement within these services.
Be responsible for the management and service of Automation regarding the pharmacy robot and Automated Dispensing Systems (Mediwells / Omnicell).
Be responsible for ensuring that for Prince Charles Hospital, medication is ordered in line with national and regional contracts.
Ensuring a constant supply of quality medicines through the Pharmacy to the UHB and its patients by managing the purchase order, delivery and payment systems.

- Demonstrable expertise and knowledge to Degree Level or equivalent acquired through BTEC in Pharmaceutical Science, NVQ Level 3 in Pharmacy Services and training.
- Medicines Management Training qualification.
- Accredited Checking Pharmacy Technician qualification.
- MCIPS or CIPS recognised qualification or commitment to complete qualification in post.
- Registered as a Pharmacy Technician with GPhC.
- Good knowledge of pharmacy procurement or supply chain management procedures and practice.
