Job summary
An exciting secondment post opportunity has arisen for enthusiastic, dedicated, skilled AMU Nurse to join our highly motivated team within our Acute Medical Unit.
The post holder will be required to co-ordinate a 53 bed area, including an Acute Medical Unit.
The post will be required to assist with patient flow, supporting staff and ensuring a high standard of patient care across the ward area.
This post is fixed term/secondment for 12 months due to secondment cover. If you are interested in applying for the secondment position, you must obtain permission from your current line manager prior to applying for this post.
Main duties of the job
The successful candidate will be part of a fantastic team to take charge of a 53 bed area, this includes an 8 bedded trolley assessment bay.
The successful candidate will be an experienced staff nurse to provide support and guidance to junior members of the team.
Exciting internal and external opportunities exist within the unit for training and development in dealing with acutely unwell patients.
Along with the relevant Acute Medical experience, the successful candidate would be required to display excellent communication and interpersonal skills, functioning effectively as part of the multi-disciplinary team.
The candidate would require excellent organisation, time management and delegation skills as part of their role and have the ability to work effectively in challenging situations.
Welsh Skills Desirable: This post is advertised as Welsh Desirable. This doesn't mean essential; whilst the candidate doesn't need to have skills in Welsh, we'll consider it an advantage when short-listing candidates. This isn't 'fluency', just Speaking & Listening skills at Level 3 (equivalent to CEFR B2) or above. Level 3 means basic conversations with patients about their everyday health.
