Salaried Dental Services Administration Support Manager

The closing date is 15 July 2025

Job summary

Are you a passionate and driven individual who wants to be part of an innovative and dynamic team delivering high quality care? If so, Salaried Dental Services would like to hear from you! We provide a wide range of services from Community Dental Services, treating vulnerable patients unable to access high street dentistry, Designed to Smile and Gwen Am Byth public health programmes, to the Dental Teaching Unit in Porth supporting Foundation Dentists on their journey to becoming qualified. If you are looking for a varied job role with opportunity to progress then this is the service for you.

We are looking for a motivated and enthusiastic individual to join us as an Administration Support Manager, supporting the Service Manager with the smooth and efficient running of services whilst taking line management responsibilities for the administrative team.

The service is in a significant period of transformation so we are looking for someone with a keen eye for process improvement and an appetite for change who can play an instrumental part in the development of the service to provide high quality care for our patients.

Whilst previous experience in dentistry would be beneficial, this is not essential as you will be working alongside a fantastic team, both clinical and operational, and provided with a comprehensive induction programme to support your success within the role.

Travel around the CTM footprint to community-based clinics will be required as part of this role.

Main duties of the job

To line manage the Administrative Staff within the directorate to provide support to the Service Manager in the delivery of safe, efficient, effective and timely patient care.

To provide direct day-to-day operational support to the Service Manager in the provision of quality services within budget and that all opportunities for the continuous development and improvement of the service are appropriately considered and pursued.

To support the Service Manager in addressing urgent situations as and when they arise and know how to prioritise their workload.

To support the Service Manager with the management and oversight of performance data and collating this into reports as directed.

To support the Service Manager and lead on process improvement and development in line with service need.

To provide support with the implementation of job plans and rotas so that clinic utilisation is maximised as far as possible and ensuring accurate and valid waiting lists are maintained within the service.

Welsh Skills Desirable: This post is advertised as Welsh Desirable. This doesn't mean essential; whilst the candidate doesn't need to have skills in Welsh, we'll consider it an advantage when short-listing candidates. This isn't 'fluency', just Speaking & Listening skills at Level 3 (equivalent to CEFR B2) or above. Level 3 means basic conversations with patients about their everyday health. For more information, see the 'Croeso Candidate' booklet below.
