Medical Laboratory Assistant (Band 3)
We are pleased to offer an excellent opportunity for a motivated and reliable Medical Laboratory Assistant (MLA) to join the Pathology Department at Royal Glamorgan Hospital.
As part of our Biochemistry Laboratory team, you will play a vital role in ensuring high standards of patient care through the accurate and timely processing of clinical specimens.
Working within our combined reception area, you will be trained to handle biological samples such as blood, urine, and faeces, following strict Health & Safety protocols and Standard Operating Procedures.
What we're looking for:
- A good standard of general education
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- High attention to detail and a willingness to learn new tasks
- Previous laboratory or healthcare experience (desirable)
- Confidence using IT systems (desirable)
Main duties of the job
Your main responsibilities will include the preparation, labelling, and data entry of clinical specimens, all of which require a careful and methodical approach.
You'll be joining a UKAS-accredited department (ISO 15189) and an IBMS-accredited training laboratory, offering excellent development opportunities and a structured, professional environment to grow your career.
