Job summary

We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and well-motivated professional to join our Public Health Team in Cwm Taf Morgannwg, working across the three counties of Bridgend, Merthyr Tydfil and Rhondda Cynon Taf.This is a specialist public health role within Cwm Taf Morgannwg Public Health Team. It contributes to the planning, development, delivery and evaluation of partnership programmes and initiatives to promote health and well-being across all sectors, in line with agreed local and national strategies. Implementation will be system-wide, engaging health, local authority, and third sector colleagues as well as wider partners.The team is committed to agile working and will involve some home working alongside working in our office sites.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will support the implementation and delivery of public health programmes in a range of different settings and with identified target groups, including community health development.

Responsibilities are at a Cwm Taf Morgannwg Public Health Team level and the post holder is expected to work under the direction and guidance of Principal and Senior Public Health Practitioners who will agree specific work objectives on an annual basis according to local needs and priorities.

The post holder will be guided by national, local policies as well as health improvement programmes. The post holder will be the specialist for own health improvement area.
