Now is a great time to join the Finance Department in Cwm Taf Morgannwg University Health Board. We currently have an opportunity for an enthusiastic and highly motivated individual to join the team as a Senior Finance Officer in a Management Accounting and Business Partnering team.
The Senior Finance Officer role is varied and interesting and includes undertaking financial performance monitoring, budget setting, forecasting and providing timely financial advice for the allocated Services.
The vacancy is within the Primary Care, Community & Mental Health Group, the successful candidate will work within the Community Directorate, where they will have the opportunity to gain autonomy over a number of specific areas, with the support of the Directorate Support Accountant.
Now is a very exciting time to join the team as there are a number of changes within the Communities Directorate, making it a very diverse portfolio - including Community Hospitals, Specialist Palliative Care, District Nursing, the addition of all Specialist services and development of new services to support patients outside of a Hospital setting. These new developments are part of the planned shift of services from Acute settings to provide care closer to home for patients.
This is a wide-ranging and fast paced environment that is sure to offer a number of new experiences, alongside the development of financial management skills.
Main duties of the job
The role will involve close liaison with, and providing assistance to, advising and having regular meetings with, Line Managers, Clinical Service Group Managers and other budget holders within allocated Services while working within Statutory and UHB procedures, agreed timescales and legal requirements.
The post is permanent and full time, working 37.5 hours per week. This will follow a hybrid working model split between home and office working. The finance offices are currently located at Dewi Sant Hospital in Pontypridd. The post will service a range of meetings with colleagues, both virtual and in person. Face to face meetings with service leads could be at sites across the Health Board footprint.
