Job summary
An exciting secondment opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic Team Leader for Looked After Children to join our established team in ensuring effective systems are in place within Cwm Taf Morgannwg to meet the holistic health needs of children looked after.
The successful candidate will join the organisation at a time of exciting transformation and change and will work closely with local authorities and other health and social care professionals in order to facilitate the completion of statutory health assessments and ensure good health outcomes for this vulnerable population.The post holder must possess specialist professional knowledge to degree level, have a valid nursing registration, possess clear understanding and specialised knowledge relevant to looked after children and associated legislative processes. They will have experience of working within a multi-agency forum and demonstrate significant experience of undertaking holistic health assessments of children and young people.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will:
Support delivery of innovative, clinically excellent, evidence based health components of the local Looked After Children service.
Assist, support and advice staff within Cwm Taf Morgannwg Health Board to recognise their responsibilities in relation to Looked After Children and to support them to plan, deliver and evaluate appropriate interventions and co-ordination of health care.Work collaboratively with partner agencies across health, social care andothers to ensure all Looked After Children receive good quality health provision and are not disadvantaged in terms of their vulnerability due to their looked after status
Provide leadership, management and consultancy for the Looked After Children health service, ensuring local and national standards, guidelines and policies are maintained.
