Job summary
You will provide and maintain high quality patient care, working as part of the multi-disciplinary team, to achieve the highest standards for patients and their families/carers.
They will be able to work across both the outpatient & fracture clinic department in a variety of settings, assist with clinical procedures in clinic, and support the patient throughout the procedure and support/deputise for the Department Manager in planning and co-ordinating delivery of and actively develop both Services.
The post holder will undertake role of Clinic Co-ordinator and have the ability to manage own workload effectively, whilst delegating tasks and duties appropriately.
The post holder will be required to work across both Outpatients and Fracture clinics, within the department within Cwm Taf Morgannwg University Health Board (CTMUHB).
Main duties of the job
You will be responsible for the day to day running of the OPD department including the busy Fracture Clinic. You will also be expected to:
Support the Department Manager in the management of staff within the Outpatients & Fracture Clinics
Working across all the clinical areas alongside multidisciplinary teams to ensure smooth flow of clinics. This requires excellent communication, time-management and problem-solving skills to resolve any issues (e.g. managing clinic delays)
Sound understanding of an outpatients setting including experience within T&O along with an enthusiastic and innovative character to develop this evolving service
Be able to teach, supervise, and assess others in their area of expertise in the Outpatients & Fracture Clinic Department setting, which includes multi-professional groups
Escalate any incidents or issues that cannot be resolved to the Senior Nurse for intervention
Act as advocate for patients and their families
