Job summary
An exciting innovative opportunity has arisen for a new In-patient podiatry posts, offering a rare opportunity for enthusiastic, motivated podiatrists to provide high quality care, working as part of a dedicated In-patient Foot Service in the Princess of Wales Hospital.
The post holder will work collaboratively as part of the multi-disciplinary team (MDT), providing expert assessment, diagnosis and treatment/care planning for patients admitted or who have acquired acute and limb threatening foot complications.They will work as an independent expert resource, and be a highly visible advisor regarding the management of people with limb threatening conditions in the hospitals. They will provide high quality evidence based education and support for professional colleagues, including actively promoting and participation in educational seminars for health care professionals, carers, and people with long term conditions and limb threating situations. The post holder will provide comprehensive education and training to colleagues to facilitate the embedding of the inpatient foot risk assessment tool.
This post is Fixed Term/Secondment until 31st March 2027 due to funding

Main duties of the job
The purpose of the role is to work as part of a dedicated In-patient Foot Service in the DGHs. The post holder will work collaboratively as part of the multi-disciplinary team (MDT), providing expert assessment, diagnosis and treatment/care planning for patients admitted or who have acquired acute and limb threatening foot complications.
The post holder will work as an Independent expert resource and be a highly visible advisor regarding the management of people with limb threatening conditions in the hospitals. The post holder will provide comprehensive education and training to colleagues to facilitate the embedding of the inpatient foot risk assessment tool.
The post holder will be required to set the measures and collect data to highlight the Value Based HealthCare benefits and demonstrate the improved patient outcomes from the role.
The post holder will work autonomously will be a key link worker between the secondary care services and outpatient and community provision, including community podiatrists. They will be part of the Podiatry Workforce.
The post-holder will actively promote and participate in educational seminars for health care professionals, carers, and people with long term conditions and limb threating situations.
The post holder will be required to participate in the Research and Development Programme specific to this area.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.
