This role will lead the design and delivery of the Cwm Taf Morgannwg UHB (CTM)'s Retention Plan and All-Wales Retention Programme. We are looking for someone who is motivated, creative and will deliver real change at pace.
The post offers the opportunity to work closely with colleagues within our People Directorate as well as across the breadth of CTM including external stakeholders such as Health Education Improvement Wales (HEIW). Excellent communication, organisation and influencing skills will be required to ensure local progress that meets our organisational requirements making a real difference to our people.
Retention is a vital part of sustaining and growing our NHS workforce to meet the increasing and changing demands on services. You will hold a key role in our talented Strategic Workforce Planning Team, which offers opportunities for learning and personal/professional development, in a stretching but supportive environment.

Main duties of the job
- As the organisation's expert on retention, you will lead and drive the delivery of the retention plan, acting as a focal point for retention activities at organisational level, working with leaders, line managers and staff to promote best practice, resources and standards.
- Work in collaboration with a wider range of stakeholders including colleagues within the People Directorate and with managers and teams, and in partnership with Trade Union/professional body colleagues.
- Co-ordinate and report on local implementation of the Nurse Retention Plan in conjunction with the Executive Director of Nursing and wider stakeholders.
- Lead the development of local retention plan and priorities.
- Review and analyse baseline metrics and information related to retention at CTM.
- Use benchmarking and assessment of evidence based best practice for retention initiatives.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this role; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.
While you will be based at Pontypridd Cottage Hospital, the role offers hybrid working. This allows you to work flexibly from home and coming into any CTM site, as needed to deliver and embed the retention agenda with key stakeholders.
