Job summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Bridgend Community Resource Team (CRT) as an Integrated Community Services Mental Health (Team) Leader . We are looking for an experienced Mental Health Nurse interested in the growing sector of intermediate community care to join our team.

The successful candidate will be a motivated, enthusiastic, professional Nurse who can demonstrate both sound clinical, leadership and management skills but who is also creative and has vision to develop this part of the service forward. They need to be a good team player and also have the ability to understand and support the wider strategic plans for the growth and development of Integrated services.

Main duties of the job

  • To be responsible and provide effective leadership for a team of staff providing a high quality service within the resources available within the Community Resource Team and Network Clusters, and specifically to deliver on the following key areas:

  • Ensure that a culture of effective risk management is present in the team.

  • Actively promote the development of evidence based practice.

  • Foster robust working relationships with all partners in particular Local Authority and Primary and Community Care Services.

  • To carry a clinical caseload and take a lead on management of mental health care encountered by colleagues in the Community Resource Team and support staff in management of such cases.

  • To respond as required to serious untoward incidents, complaints and communications regarding team issues providing feedback to the team to ensure lessons learned are shared and inform practice development.

  • Evolve and develop existing and new pathways of care for patients with Mental Health care needs in the ever changing Integrated Community Service Sector.

Qualifications and Knowledge

Essential

  • Registered Mental Health Nurse.
  • Evidence specialist training, development of knowledge to PGD level equivalency.
  • Post registration continuing professional development activity.
  • Ability to demonstrate sound clinical knowledge and awareness of current evidence base relevant to the area of practice.
  • Sound working knowledge of the legal and policy framework underpinning mental health provision e.g. Mental Health Act, Mental Capacity Act, National Service Frameworks, Mental Health Measures.
  • Knowledge of safeguarding procedures for children and adults

Desirable

  • Relevant degree level qualification.

Experience

Essential

  • Evidence of achievement in clinical practice within the area of speciality e.g. adult mental health, older person's mental health.
  • Experience of working within a multi-agency community mental health setting.
  • Management experience.

Desirable

  • Experience of working within a multi-agency community mental health setting.
  • Ward/Team management experience.
  • Teaching experience.
