Job summary

Ward 18 Princess of Wales Hospital has temporarily moved to ward 2 Royal Glamorgan Hospital. Ward 2 is a 22 bedded care of the elderly ward caring for acute frailty and clinically optimised patients.

We are looking for a compassionate and highly motivated ward manager to lead our dedicated team. You need to be enthusiastic, a good role model and a motivated individual with a keen interest in care of the elderly nursing

The successful candidate should display effective leadership and management skills in order to deliver high quality patient focussed care and ensure effective collaborative multidisciplinary working. The post holder should have excellent communication skills, use their initiative, demonstrate flexibility, provide clinical expertise to the team and share a passion for the speciality.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will carry twenty-four hour continuing responsibility for the management of their respective ward. They will be highly experienced in caring for frail elderly patients

The post holder will be responsible for delivering a quality nursing service to all patients in their care, ensuring that all resources are used to optimum effect.

They will be responsible for the devising and implementation of policies and procedures for their ward, which will ensure the highest standards of patient care within existing/current resources and which will ensure the highest standards and mission of the UHB.

The post holder will be responsible for ensuring the safety and welfare of staff through the observance and implementation of Health and Safety Policies and also assist them in identifying and achieving training and developmental needs through the implementation of UHB policies and procedures
